Dear Rev Fathers and Brothers

Greetings from Argentina. I too was one of the participants of the International La Salette Workshop of Justice and Peace in Codoba, Argentina from June 07 upto June 17, 2011.

It was held in a retreat house in the center of the Cordoba City.  There were 15 participants: Fr Tony Abuan from Philippines, myself from India, Fr Marcel from France, Fr Meme from Madagascar (working in washington, USA), Fr Edgar and Fr Pedro from Brazil, Fr Norman Farland from the US, Fr Dennis Loomis as the Superior General, and the rest were from Argentina - Norman Butler, Fr Alfredo Velarde, Fr James Weeks, Fr Fernando, Fr David, Bro Pedro and Bro Moises.

There were talks by professional sociologists from the University of Buenos Aires, lawyers and a Judge on Human Rights movement, there were sharings by victims of the military tyranny time of Argentina, and there were visits to the concentration camps in Argentina where Fr Alfredo Velarde was detained for 40 days and Fr James weeks for some days. There were sharings among the participants about the problems of justice in the countries of the participants, in the places of ministries of the participants, and the ministries towards the cause of justice in various provinces.  It was a very enriching workshop. 

There are 3 proposals on the question of justice and peace were made by the the participants unanimously and forwarded to the incoming general chapter of the congregation.
